10.10.10 - planting of the placenta.

Everything happens for a reason. All in divine time. And all for a specific purpose. On 10.10.10, almost exactly one year after Zen Kai's birth, we finally planted his placenta under a Noni tree (which has been used by our Hawaiian ancestors for thousands of years because of it's magical healing properties). This special Noni tree was given to our 'Ohana by Uncle Kepa Hart. As part of our native cultural tradition, the planting of the placenta, acknowledges the placenta's deep connection to the baby, and binds the new child to the native land. This noni tree was planted in Grandma Lucero's backyard in Nanakuli, right before sunset. Mahalo Ke Akua, Na Aumakua, Na Kupuna for your aloha + blessing!! And a special mahalo to Daddy, Grandma Airleen, Uncle Lawrence and Uncle Caleb for your kokua on this special day!
